Kris Marquis

 

 

 Kris was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa.  After graduating from high school she attended Marshalltown Community College (MCC) and received her Associate Arts (AA) Degree in August of 1989.  After receiving her AA Degree she transferred to Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa and received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Business Administration in December of 1991.  As a young girl and through her college career Kris participated in Basketball, Softball and Volleyball.

Kris has worked in Higher Education since 1992 when she became the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Marshalltown Community College (MCC).  At this time she was also the Conference Coordinator at the Best Western Regency Inn where she was able to find her first career after graduating from college.  From 1995- 1998 Kris worked full time for MCC as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Head Softball Coach and Admissions Counselor/Recruiter.  From the fall of 1998 until the fall of 2001, Kris worked Student Accounts in the Business Office at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Kris’ family - husband Mike and children Mitch, Michelle and McKade - moved to Texas in August of 2001.  Kris has worked at Lon Morris College since September 10, 2001.
